I've made piezos in electric guitars with wooden bridges, or with wood in strategic points in the bridge, and EQ and super short tailed reverb will only get you so far. in fact it sounds like a strat played through a Boss AC-2 (which I've also tried and hated). I've run it through a K&K pre, LR Baggs DI, Para-Acoustic DI, and I just can't get it to sound 'fuller'. I'm looking for ways to make my PRS Hollowbody piezo p'up sound more like an acoustic gtr. ![]() I've been playing solidbody piezos since the early 90's, since Mike Christian. 1 Didn't know how else to ask the question. I've fooled people listening blindly when playing a piezo Strat. It understands the signal it's being delivered, and literally fills in only the "rest of the story" to morph the sound into what it would sound like if you were standing a few feet in front of 16 different guitar models. Set string height after setting the relief. If it has more, tighten the truss rod, re-tune, and check it again. You want the string to barely move before hitting the fret. Then check the gap at the 8th fret (tap the string over the fret). It has an input setting for a metal bridge with piezo. To check relief: Fret the first and at the neck/body connection.
